Altar Servers

                     
What does the Altar Server Do?

Altar Serving is one of the ways our young people can begin to live out their Baptism promises
by serving others and witnessing to their faith in Jesus Christ. 

The role of the Altar Server is to assist the Priest in the celebration of the liturgy during Mass.  
Some of the altar server responsibilities include:

• Lighting the candles at the Altar & Tabernacle

• Bearing the cross and candles in the entrance procession

• Assisting with holy water, water, wine and offertory gifts at Mass

• Ringing of the bells during the Consecration

• Assist the priest celebrant as necessary

Young people who have made their First Holy Communion and are in the 3rd Grade (or higher) are invited to consider joining this important ministry.  Please speak with Father, Deacon Sean, or Sarah after Mass,  or contact our Altar Server Coordinator:   Allyson Altar Server Coordinator
